Creative Direction
in the Age of AI
How do you transform an idea in your head into a finished film without cameras, actors, locations, or a production crew? This project demonstrates a new creative model: one where AI doesn’t replace the creative director, but dramatically expands the scale, speed, and ambition of what a single creator can bring to life.
The Ones That Don’t Fit Under The Bed began as an original screenplay and evolved into a completed short film through a human-directed generative AI workflow. Starting with a script and shot list, I built an iterative production pipeline using ChatGPT, Artlist, ElevenLabs, and DaVinci Resolve to develop the story, plan cinematography, direct performances, generate visuals, create voiceover, design soundtrack/FX, cut edits, color, and finishing.
The Result:
60-Second Film • $115 of Software • 80hrs Human Labor
A project that would traditionally require a multidisciplinary crew, weeks of production, actors, locations, cameras, and a budget measured in high %’s of marketing budgets.
